2021
Our nonprofit organization was officially established with a mission to impact our local community positively.
During this year, we identified our primary focus areas, which include animal rehabilitation, providing aid to foster homes, and assisting the homeless population in our community.
2022
This year, we conducted thorough research to better understand the root causes of the challenges faced by each of the programs we support. By doing so, we ensure that our approach lead to lasting, meaningful impact.
As part of this effort, we forged strong partnerships with key organizations deeply embedded in the local community, including the City of Chicago, PAWS, SOS Children's Village, Lincoln Park Community Services, The Shedd Aquarium, The Field Museum, Lincoln Park Zoo, The Museum of Science and Industry, and The Adler Planetarium.
2023
This year, we focused on expanding the SLF team and revisiting our core values to ensure alignment with key decision-makers, helping us accelerate the growth of our partnership network. Through strategic collaborations with organizations like Walmart and Amazon, we strengthened our impact.
Building on the success of the previous year, we continued our animal rehabilitation efforts, surpassing last year's achievements by assisting over 600 animals. Our dedication to supporting youth in our community remained steadfast, as we sponsored the education and enrichment of more than 600 children, providing them with ongoing access to vital educational resources and opportunities.
2024
SLF experienced a year of significant expansion and strengthened partnerships, furthering our mission to support local communities and those in need. We are proud to highlight some key collaborations that allowed us to make an even greater impact:
- Pepperidge Farm & Rosen Partnership: We joined forces with Pepperidge Farm and Rosen, enabling us to donate a variety of snacks and fresh bread to local homeless shelters. This partnership provided nutritious and comforting food to families and individuals facing difficult circumstances, helping to alleviate hunger in the Greater Chicago area.
- Comfort Inn's Contribution: Thanks to our partnership with Comfort Inn, we were able to provide beds for homeless shelters, offering a safe and restful space for individuals in need. This collaboration was vital in creating a sense of dignity and comfort for those experiencing homelessness.
- Essential Grooming Partners: Our essential grooming partners played a crucial role in supporting those in need by providing hygiene products and services to underserved communities. Their contribution helped improve personal well-being and offered a sense of pride and care to individuals experiencing hardships.
- NNS Logistics: With the invaluable support of NNS Logistics, we gained the distribution capabilities needed to reach more communities across the Greater Chicago area. Their logistics expertise enabled us to efficiently deliver goods and services to those who needed them most.
